Eva Longoria by golfiscool Eva Longoria by golfiscool
It's finally done. A couple people have asked me to draw Eva Longoria from "Desperate Housewives" so here she is.

I worked on this for so long that I started making tonal mistakes. Thanks to and for pointing out some things to me. It really helped in the end I think. When I was showing the WIP's I wondered why the drawing was looking so dull and monotone. Henderson pointed out to me that I was making the hair about the same tone as the skin, which isn't true on Eva at all. Her hair is alot darker. I darkened the hair significantly since the last update and I have lightened some places on her face where the direct light source is hitting it. The top was left paper color partly to save me the extra work of doing a detailed fabric (which I am no good at anyways) and partly to help balance out the tones on the drawing. I think it works pretty well. Thanks to all who have commented on the WIP. Much appreciated. :glomp:

I'm sorry if I sound rude, but I'm afraid it doesn't look like her. But the picture looks very good though.

Brian,

That is really great work. Really fabulous transitions from light to dark, very realistic and natural looking. The teeth are magnificent, some very delicate blending there to get them so smooth and glassy looking. I am a bit uncomfortable about the unfinished top. I understand your reasons for leaving it this way......I've been there, but I think a plain top without all the details looks better than unfinished. Ultimately your decision.

I really like the face, the hair, the eyes, the teeth.

Excellent job,

Craig

Yeah, I understand what you are saying about the top. I don't really like that I left it unfinished but in another sense I wanted to move on. Thanks.

Thank you Pat. I hope I get better otherwise there would be no point. :D I am not very happy with the skin tones still, they look kind of monotone to me but I'm done with it. Time to move on. :D Thanks Pat.

I think that the tones are too monotone still. There isn't enough tonality to the drawing. I will do better next time though.

omgosh man. its breath taking. looking at the valleys of shadows is just... uuuuH! its beautiful. you have so much talent it never ceases to amaze me. the way u shaded puts such an emphasis on her ethnicity. you did her mouth absoluetly perfectly. i am in awe of this piece. ive been on a slum ( drawing wise ) but, its people like you, that when i see what is made by human hands... gets me inspired. lol, i hope you understand that ><. i love how you kept her apperal completely blank but... lol, it looks so detailed b.c of all the other stuff around it. i cant stop looking at it to tell you the truth. i love the lighting in her hair... its to kill for. i mean that. i would actually kill someone for your skills! good luck w. your futue master pieces man. im excited to see more. wish me luck on this Houston Rodeo Art Show * bites lip *

Thanks alot for that comment. I appreciate it. I think I may still have gone a little too dark with the drawing but I know not to do that next time. I hope you come across some work that inspires you to draw something. Your gallery is great, keep adding to it. Good luck at the Houston Rodeo Art Show!!
