Artist's Comments

Finally done. This is a drawing I did of my chihuahua, Misty. The butterfly was done with prismacolor colored pencils and the rest of the portrait was done in with graphite pencils. I added a bell to her collar instead of a boring ID tag because I thought it might be cuter. I am really happy with the outcome of this. It was my first time leaving everything completely unblended. The only part of the drawing that I did blend was the light cast shadow on the ground. After doing a couple still life drawings, I felt like my eye sight was very tuned in terms of tonal flow and shapes. The message I was trying to convey in the drawing is sometimes it's the little things in life that mean the most. Thank you to everyone who commented on the WIP.

This is amazing!! The detalail is insane, and I love how the butterfly is in color while the dog is not.

Thank you. Yeah, I'm glad I did the drawing like this. Originally, I was thinking about making the whole drawing in color. But I'm glad I didn't.
