Oil Portrait

Even with my hand in a cast I managed to do some painting lately. This is an oil painting that I did for a customer. He wanted a portrait of his wife, Gigi. This was an interesting painting to do in that I'm still experimenting with skintones. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out but I realize I need lots more practice with oils. I had a hell of a time trying to photograph this. This image is the closest I could get to the original but it's still quite far from what it looks like in real life. In this digital image the tones are slightly blown out and some of the colors are not right, much more vibrant IRL. The painting is still wet also which may be my problem.
