Pear Still Life

Here's a painting that I did yesterday. There is a large group of artists called daily painters that have inspired me lately. They finish paintings in one sitting and do it every single day. With my last painting and this one I tried to do the same thing. It's rare for me to finish something in one sitting but this forces me to loosen up my style a little bit to accomodate the daily deadline. Anyways, this is an oil painting of a pear. It took me around 5 hours. I tried to use complimentary colors with red and green on the pear itself and then use neutral colors for the background and wood. This is my 9th oil painting I've done to date. There will be many more to come. Again, I had a hard time photographing this. When it dries I will scan it and hopefully the colors will be truer to life.
