Hey everyone. This one was something a lot different from me. I've been wanting to try one of these for a few years and just never got to it until now. I was recently inspired after seeing Lacey Lewis' Monochrome Self Portrait that she did. I don't think she's here on DA but I talked to her on Facebook a little bit. Anyways, This drawing was done on tinted paper with graphite and white colored pencil. I've always loved the way drawings look on tinted paper. I think they look really classical and artistic.
This paper was something new to me. I asked Lacey what kind of paper she used and bought the same kind. The paper is Strathmore 500 series Charcoal for those who care. It is a lot thinner and has a lot more tooth than I am used to. But I like the way graphite lays down on it. It's a lot easier to get dark tones because of the texture.
The model I used for the drawing is , who many of you already know. I think she's really beautiful and I hope to do a lot more drawings of her.
This drawing was really fun to do. I will be doing a lot more of these hopefully in the future.

*Edit - This scan is pissing me off a little bit. Due to the size of it I had to scan in 3 sections so you can see the section lines. I'm going to keep playing around with it and see if I can get those lines less visible.
*Edit 2 - Fixed the scan but not sure if it's too dark now. Let me know please. Thanks.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
