Armin Mersmann

Fri Mar 3, 2006, 1:59 PM
Well, unless a commission comes up this weekend, I will be starting my portrait of Armin Mersmann, on Sunday or Monday. He sent me a couple reference pictures today. I have to admit, the pictures he sent are VERY intimidating (technically) looking at them. I think this might be the most intricate portrait I have done to this point. He has a very light beard, tons of pores on his face, and dark hair with the occasional gray stray hair. I think I will really try hard on this portrait because I look up to him so much. I want to impress him with this one. So it might take me a couple weeks, or if I'm patient enough, it could take a whole month. There's defenitely enough detail on his face to take that long.

On a different note, my scanner is supposed to come today. The UPS guy hasn't shown his face yet but I hope he does before I take off for the weekend. I really want to get this thing set up and see how it works.

His pieces are always of subjects with intricate details as well though... at least now it'll give you a chance to work with a subject that doesnt have perfectly young, smooth skin, which is easy to obtain if your name is Brian Deuy (cant spell your last name :blushes:) :giggle:

Good luck with it brian. Seriously- its a challenge, but it'll be WELL worth it if you take the time to do it.

:D   :boogie: :#1: hehe

Good luck. I look forward to the end result.
I am guessing but, does a commission mean somebody asks you to draw a picture of them for money? or just a request that someone makes for you to draw something of some sort? I am to lazy to look it up in the dictionary lol.

I can't wait to see some more work from you, your the best (imo). :D
Can't wait to see it, man. I'm sure the wait will be worth it. ;-)

How could you be so heartless?
You couldn't have picked a better subject, Brian. Good luck with it.

Wish you the best of luck. And it'll be a learning experience for you. As some say, it isn't worth drawing something if it doesn't become somewhat of a challenge. The challenge is what makes it worthwhile, because it is challenging your talent as well as pushing you to do your absolute best. =) Good luck Brian! Can't wait to see the outcome.

The decision to kiss for the first time is the most crucial in any love story. It changes the relationship of two people much more strongly than even the final surrender; because this kiss already has within it that surrender.

I know you can do it, Good luck! :D
